Miniature

Limited Edition Prints

The Miniature Series is an ongoing body of work exploring memory, light, and atmosphere through small-scale painting.

The intimate size invites close viewing, creating a quiet and personal encounter between the artwork and the viewer.

The compositions are developed from my own photographic reference, translating fleeting moments into carefully observed studies of tone, light, and joy.

These works are reproduced as a limited edition archival pigment print of 30.

GOUACHE

Original Artwork

These are my larger artworks.

Each one is drawn free-hand, built from tiny, abstract shapes that lock together like a whimsical puzzle. Once the drawing comes to life, I paint it with gouache, experimenting with colour combinations to create vibrant, one-of-a-kind patterns.

About Me

Dree-Louise Finch is a full-time multifaceted artist who primarily works in watercolour and gouache, exploring the delightful balance between precision and play.

When she’s not immersed in her own art, she paints tiny pet portraits in delicate detail—capturing the very essence of our beloved companions.

Unbound by genre, Dree-Louise paints what brings her joy in the moment. Her work ranges from miniature scenes—no larger than a matchbox—painted from her own
photographs and inspired by moments that warm her soul, to larger freehand compositions where she experiments with shape, colour, and emotion.

Each piece becomes a quiet exercise in perseverance, patience, and self-compassion, reflecting her deep
connection to both process and feeling.

“I paint for myself—to explore my own inner world. When others see themselves
within it too, the work transcends solitude and becomes communion.”
