Bali Lily Pond

Bali Lily Pond

Original Miniature Artwork

Some moments stay with us long after we have left them behind. Not necessarily because something extraordinary happened, but because there was something about them that made us stop and look a little closer.

I photographed these lilies during my first trip overseas with my mom. There was something about the image I kept returning to, a quiet fascination that never quite left me. Years later, I finally found my way back to it through paint.

Bali Lily Pond is, in its own way, a return. To a place I visited, a memory I carried home, and a photograph I loved long before I knew what I would one day make of it. A feeling my mom and I will always share.

Painted by hand using traditional watercolour techniques on 300gsm Fabriano watercolour paper, this miniature measures only 34 × 45 mm — smaller than a matchbox.

The painting is delicately float-mounted within a warm walnut box frame and protected behind non-reflective museum glass. The glazing has been carefully selected to protect the work while allowing the intricate details of the miniature to remain beautifully clear, resulting in a complete, ready-to-hang artwork.

As with each original in the collection, Bali Lily Pond is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, documenting its originality and provenance.
