Vellichor

Vellichor

Original Miniature Artwork

There is a particular kind of magic in old books.

The softened edges. The worn spines. A quiet sense that these pages have lived an entire life of their own.

Vellichor is a love letter to that feeling — to the strange comfort of being surrounded by books that have existed long before you, and will perhaps remain long after you have gone. The delicate golden lettering caught the light in a way that made something so familiar feel almost precious.

The word itself describes the inexplicable feeling of being drawn to old bookshops and libraries; that warm, almost melancholic atmosphere of books that have been read, treasured and passed through other lives.

Painted by hand using traditional watercolour techniques on 300gsm Fabriano watercolour paper, this miniature measures only 34 × 45 mm — smaller than a matchbox.

The painting is delicately float-mounted within a warm walnut box frame and protected behind non-reflective museum glass. The glazing has been carefully selected to protect the work while allowing the intricate details of the miniature to remain beautifully clear, resulting in a complete, ready-to-hang artwork.

As with each original in the collection, Vellichor is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, documenting its originality and provenance.
